1.  Commercial Roofing Project Coordinator

Job Summary

Certified Roofing is a well-established commercial roofing company with over 30 years of experience providing roofing and waterproofing solutions for many clients throughout Florida. We are a full service re-roofing and waterproofing contracting firm. We have an outstanding Service Division that provides emergency roof repair and maintenance services for all types of commercial, industrial and retail properties. This project coordinator position is a position that supports our Senior Project Managers. The goal of the project coordinator is to work with our project management team, roofing system manufacturer’s, material suppliers to prepare shop drawings, purchase materials and coordinate delivery; prepare “Job Books” for our Superintendent’s and Foremen; facilitate pre-job meetings; process manufacturer warranty application, prepare sub-contract agreements, and a variety of other administrative duties supporting the project management team.

This Project Coordinator position will support our Senior Project Managers by performing administrative duties so that the Senior Project Managers can stay focused on the technical aspects of project execution.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with preparing Permit applications for submission to Building Departments.
  • Assemble Submittal Packages and Superintendent / Foreman Job Books.
  • Process Roofing Manufacturer Warranty applications and Construction Notice of Awards on manufacturer websites. Track Pending Warranty progress.
  • Prepare and Issue Purchase Orders using ComputerEase construction software based on material lists prepared by Buyers and manufacturer’s list prices or special pricing quotes for the job.
  • Schedule, Track, and maintain log of material deliveries.
  • Schedule handoff meetings requested by Senior Project Manager.
  • Any other projects or activities as requested

Key Results:

  • Project Coordinators execute in a planned and well organized fashion.
  • Material purchases are complete, accurately priced and material deliveries are well coordinated with operations.
  • Submittal and Superintendent / Foreman’s packages clearly convey the scope of work and manufacturer specifications

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post high school degree or certification preferred
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
  • Demonstrates the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in responding to all situations

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

  • Prior roofing sales experience preferred (min of 3 yrs exp in trade industry)
  • Experience with various types of roofing systems preferred
  • Be able to inspect and accurately measure roofs
  • Able to problem solve for roof leaks and create a plan to repair
  • Perform accurate roof inspections and be able to generate professional reports based on those inspections.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience in service preferred
  • General knowledge of all roofing systems installed in Florida preferred

Job Description/Requirements:

  • Provide roof service technician response activities, traveling by company vehicle to respond to customer needs.
  • Flexibility a must as you will need to be available to the dispatcher 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency services but will generally work a 5 or 6 day work week.
  • Provide high quality roofing repair work on a variety of commercial roof systems
  • Provide a high quality of customer communication and interaction skills
  • The ability to communicate via tablet and telephone daily is a must
  • Responsible for timely completion of service orders and contracts as assigned to them on a daily basis
  • Service tickets are expected to be completed using the highest quality standards

4.  Commercial Roofing Superintendent

Certified Contracting Group, in business since 1986, is an industry leading General Contracting, Commercial Roofing, and Solar Energy Technology firm located in Pompano Beach, Florida. We are currently seeking a motivated, self-driven individual with integrity and work ethic to join our growing team as a superintendent. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing of commercial roofing including Modified, Single-ply, tile, metal and several others.

Job Responsibilities/Requirements

  • Coordination of the sub-contractor’s work
  • Responsible for all field activities associated with the project, including ultimate responsibility for implementation of safety/zero harm program for the job site.
  • Review and understand scope of work and project specifications
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements for that specific job
  • Analyze blueprints, proposals and other documentation to prepare an accurate time frame, cost, and labor estimate for the project.
  • Compute accurate cost factors and prepare reports and estimates
  • Compute accurate data used for scheduling projects and preparing bids
  • Organize project information, as well as product samples for submittals
  • 3 years or more in roofing industry preferred
  • Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook)
  • Ability to read plans and specs
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple trades and supervise a large group of people.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills are required.
  • Ability to maintain positive attitude with a high level of personal pride and professionalism.
  • Commitment to completion of projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to resolve field v/s plans' related discrepancies with a "can do attitude"

Roofing Estimator/ Project Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on large, complex work and all types of contracts.  Provide overall management direction for the planning, execution and closing of four or more projects at any one point in time.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Estimating

1.  Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.  

2.  Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.  

3.  Provide complete conceptual (or bid work) and final estimating input on complex projects.  

4.  Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids.  

5.  Insure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.  

6.  Assist contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required.  

7.  Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; procuring materials, etc.  

8. Working with other departments to evaluate rates for estimating

9.  Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.


Project Management

  • Plan, organize and schedule the activities of construction managers and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
  • Liaison with building owner to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Clients.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.   Includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, union officials, subcontractors, security, etc.
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to. Interpret policies as required.
  • Maintain official project log and documentation files.
  • Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
  • Contract review to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Develop and send out bid requests to Engineers, Subcontractors, Vendors, evaluating the responses to award contracts based on price, value, experience, customer service, etc.
  • Review Engineering drawings to ensure proper system design to meet customer’s needs and deliverables of contact.
  • Facilitate weekly project meetings and track actions items
  • Risk Planning and mitigation throughout project lifecycle

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

Educational and experience requirements include:  4 year degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or related experience.  5-8 years estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience (at least 4 years estimating experience) in similar commercial roofing.  Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required. Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate and supervise group work effort essential. Knowledge of Miami-Dade Codes preferred.
